Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion (chopped)
- 1 bell pepper (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (with juices)
- 1 can kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until it’s as rich as a movie star. Drain any excess fat.
- Toss in the chopped onions and bell peppers, and sauté until they’re soft and aromatic — about 5 minutes.
- Add in the minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes, beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir it all together.
- Let the magic happen! Bring it to a simmer and cook for about 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve it up!
Notes
Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or sliced jalapeños. Pairs well with crusty bread or crispy tortilla chips.
